FIVE Unmissable Experiences in ICELAND

Here we share five out-of-this-world-experiences!

1. Blue Lagoon An absolute must for spa-lovers and much bigger than you think! It's so relaxing and a great place to unwind. There's a mask bar (choose from a range of masks with different healing properties) and a drinks bar - what is not to love? Great for skin to feel rejuvenated afterwards.

2. Gullfoss Waterfall

Part of the Golden Circle tour in Southwest Iceland, this waterfall is amazing! Expect spectacular scenery with ultra-clear waters. If you're lucky enough - you may even spot a rainbow over the waterfall. Magical!

3. Northern Lights

Go to the edge of the Thingvellir National Park, where the Northern American and Eurasian tectonic plates are pulling apart - you may see a the glimmering green and pale blue in the sky. Why not round off with a nice hot chocolate to keep you warm.

This is a once-in-a-lifetime experience.

4. Hike Fagradalsfjall Volcano

This volcano recently erupted for the first time in 7,000. Book a trip to hike through the Geldingadalur Valley where lava flows from erupting volcanos. Steam comes off of the lava, yet the lava completely hardened. It's surprisingly lightweight too. This will give you a real appreciation for the natural world and how we play such a small part in it.

5. Sample the local Cuisine

Reykjavik has places to suit all budgets. Try lots of weird and wonderful things from Icelandic Char (a cross between salmon and trout) and reindeer burgers! Food is fresh and sustainably sourced. You will not go hungry in Iceland. They even love fish and chips!
