Launching in January 2024 – The Royal Caribbean International’s Icon of the Seas is set to become the largest cruise ship in the world.
Nine feet longer and two decks taller than the Wonder of the Seas, which is currently the largest ship and was launched in spring this year, the 7,600-passenger vessel - Icon of the seas features eight neighbourhoods including new dedicated family space Surfside and Thrill Island where passengers can experience the “largest water park at sea”
The thrilling Ultimate Family Townhouse, takes the Ultimate Family Suite concept debuted on some of the Oasis-class ships to a whole other level – literally.
It is a three-storey suite situated at the after corner of the ship, sleeping up to 8 guests in incredible luxury and is packed with great features for adults and kids alike.
This suite is jam-packed with family-friendly entertainment. The living area consists of a sizable living room and a dining room with a gaming console. If you're travelling with a group larger than four people, the double couch bed in this room will come in handy.
The theatre area includes a large TV, a popcorn maker, a karaoke machine, plush chairs, and a daybed with a monster motif
The kids' room features bunk beds, its own TV and games, and its own bathroom with a bath, while the master bedroom has a king-size bed and a private bathroom with twin vanities and two shower heads.
For those passengers, looking for something slightly less extreme the Icon of the seas has plenty of standard cabins available.
The ship will also have an infinity pool suspended 130 feet above the water and Swim and Tonic, the line's first swim-up bar.
It also revealed there are 15 restaurants, bars and lounges including a new jazz venue. Icon also has an adult-only retreat Cloud 17.
Another brand-new neighbourhood aboard the ship is the AquaDome, a brand-new entertainment arena. Michael Bayley, president of Royal Caribbean International, said it will provide "a whole array of experiences."
From Miami, Icon will first run seven-night cruises to the eastern and western Caribbean. Cozumel, Mexico; Sint Maarten; and Roatan, Honduras are just a few of the ports of call.
The Icon of the seas includes 7 pools – one for every day of the week and an array of infinity edges to take in the next-level views.
The range of rooms are designed with family comfort in mind and the spacious balconies, and floor-to-ceiling panoramic windows – you can’t get better ocean-side escapes.
Icon of the Seas will feature 2,805 cabins that can accommodate 5,610 passengers at double occupancy and 7,600 passengers at maximum capacity.
