What was the food and drink offering like? Outstanding! From daily breakfasts with a huge range of options, to multi-course banquets featuring regional specialties, Sichuan spices, and interactive cooking experiences. Dietary needs were always considered, and service was impeccable.

• 9hr 40min overnight flight to Chengdu, followed by bullet train travel to Chongqing.

Any top tips you’d recommend to clients visiting here?

• Upgrade to rooms with river or city views – the scenery is spectacular.

• Bring layers for varied climates and comfortable walking shoes for excursions.

• Try immersive local experiences like hot pot, Tujia banquet meals, and interactive cultural workshops.

• Allow extra time for popular sites, such as the Dazu Rock Caves, and plan for early morning visits.

Would you personally go back – and why? Absolutely – Chongqing and the surrounding regions offer unique cultural immersion, incredible scenery, and unforgettable experiences that go beyond sightseeing. I would especially love to revisit for immersive food tours and festivals.
