Dates: 8–11 October 2025

Purpose of the trip?
This was a resort inspection and excursion testing trip, giving us the chance to see Red Sea Holidays’ top properties and sample excursions that clients can enjoy.
Who hosted the trip? Red Sea Holidays – our fantastic host Sarah Lavender, Trade Partnerships Manager and the team ensured everything ran smoothly.
Where did you stay and what stood out? We stayed at The Grand Hotel Sharm el-Sheikh, a luxurious oasis with beautifully landscaped gardens and panoramic sea views. The grounds are vast, with multiple pools, quiet corners, and a real sense of space and tranquility. The service was exceptional – staff went above and beyond, from thoughtful touches in the room to attentive service in the restaurants. With private beaches, wellness services, and multiple dining options, it felt like a self-contained paradise.
Excursions and site visits?
We visited Ghazala Beach, Ghazala Gardens, and Sharm Plaza hotels. Each property suits different types of travellers – families, couples, and groups. We also enjoyed an unforgettable all-day boat trip to White Island, Egypt’s very own Maldives, with stops for snorkelling in crystal-clear waters.
Standout experiences?
The Red Sea boat trip was truly a highlight – the coral reefs, snorkelling, and turquoise waters were incredible. Soho Square, with its ice rink, live shows, and vibrant nightlife, was another standout that showcased Sharm el-Sheikh’s versatility.
Who is this destination best suited to?
Sharm el-Sheikh caters to everyone – families with kids, couples, luxury travellers, and adventure seekers. From serene beaches to diving, desert safaris, and vibrant nightlife, there’s something for every type of traveller.
What did you learn to help clients?
Sharm is much safer than the myths suggest. Insider tips: snorkel or dive even if you’re a beginner, request pool-view or sea-view rooms, and visit Soho Square at night for a vibrant experience.
Any surprises?
The level of hospitality exceeded expectations. Staff were welcoming, attentive, and eager to make our experience memorable. The sheer beauty and scale of the hotel grounds was also a pleasant surprise.
Food and drink offering?
The Grand Hotel offers multiple restaurants serving fresh international and Egyptian cuisine, with options for vegetarians and dietary needs. Drinks, from cocktails to soft drinks, were available at poolside and beach bars.
Travel experience?
Flights were smooth on TUI, and transfers were ready and efficient. Security at the airport is thorough but reassuring, and the short 5-hour flight makes Egypt highly accessible for UK travellers.
Top tips for clients?
Egypt is great year-round. Winter is perfect for sunshine escapes without extreme heat. Bring reef-safe sunscreen, water shoes, and plan snorkelling excursions – they are not to be missed!
Would you return?
Yes! I’m already planning my next visit. Egypt’s hospitality, experiences, and scenery are unmatched.
Thank you: A big thank you to Sarah Lavender and the Red Sea Holidays team for an incredible and informative trip.
